Then he said to them all, "If any want to become my followers, let them deny themselves and take up their cross daily and follow me.(Luke 9:23)
耶穌又對衆人說：若有人要跟從我，就當捨己，天天背起他的十字架來跟從我。（路加福音9:23）
中文和英文表達上還是有些區別的，這個DENY和捨不盡相同，但各有意味。（sigh，我又往語言學上靠了）
以下這一段解釋了這個deny：
A cross was an instrument of death. Jesus submitted to the cross and died for us. For us to bear our cross means to submit ourselves to Christ to do His will in every situation --- saying "no" to our own will and "yes" to Christ. This brings true liberty, freeing us to live for Him.
我來翻譯一下：
十字架是古代一種死刑刑具，耶穌正式為我們捨身死在十字架上。所謂負上我們的十字架，是指我們要委身基督，在每一件事上都行祂的旨意：摒棄我們自己的意願，而行祂的意願。這樣，我們就獲得了真正的自由，真正（從我們肉身的禁錮中）解放出來為耶穌而活。

這兩節也是中英文給我的理解不一樣。第一眼看到中文的時候，我心裏汗...我這個人，就是好像做什麽都是在做給別人看...沒人看我就覺得沒動力，一點兒小事要吹到全世界都知道，每天上blog第一件事就是看看有沒有留言......最近在考慮要不要去做網絡導友的事工，我心裏清楚，我明明可以神不知鬼不覺地去申請的，可是我卻想通過學傳申請，想讓她們知道。心虛中......還沒最後決定要不要申請...不想三分鐘熱度...求主幫助我。
而英文裏用的是your masters，給我理解是像工作中的boss，意思說，給老闆打工是被推著走，不是主動投身（put yourself into it）在做。只有出於為主，才會自己堅持去做。

這段的中文我有點看懂不能，原文就不打出來了。這裡說到我們為今天或明天做著種種計劃，卻不知人生如過眼雲煙。就像那首歌唱的：活著皆因榮獲上帝恩。我們無法知道明天有什麽樣的際遇在等待我們，但是我們相信万物互相效力,叫爱神的人得益处（羅馬書8:28）
...all things work together for good for those who love God...我相當喜歡的一句話。看了第一眼后就忘記不能（雖然經常想不起來exact wording）。
這其實也是我現在的狀態，在佈滿迷霧的道路上摸索前進，看不到終點有多遠。於是只能求告天父，希望某天一轉彎，發現原來終點就在腳下。
求主賜給我一份合主心意的工作。
